Leaky Gut Syndrome – LGS
(The Invisible Malady)
If partially digested food, toxins, bacteria etc, pass through the small intestine and enter into one’sbloodstream, it is referred to as leaky gut syndrome, or LGS. In other words, large spaces occur in betweenthe cells which compose the wall of the gut. Since these spaces exist in the gut wall, bacteria, toxins, and food can work their way into the bloodstream.
If a persons gut wall or intestinal lining is damaged due to leaky gut syndrome, then the cells which are damaged ‘microvilli’ become unable to do their job in the correct manner, meaning they are unable to manufacture the enzymes that are vital to proper digestion. Therefore, digestion is impaired, absorption of nutrients are affected, and damaging substances are able to invade the bloodstream.
The body then naturally, responds to the “foreign invaders” which have now entered into the bloodstream, (which aren’t normally present).
The response to that entry is inflammation, allergic reactions, and many other symptoms.
The immune system becomes weighed down from toxins that have entered the liver, causing the toxins to be flushed back into the bloodstream, they are then sent to vital tissue and muscle areas, hence the reasoning behind it being the cause of other symptoms i.e. Arthritis, Asthma, Eczema, Chronic Fatigue, Diabetes, IBS, Abdominal pain, Indigestion, Anxiety, and many others
