What Is Kefir?

Kefir is a great Probiotic generator! -
Kefir is a cultured, enzyme-rich food loaded with friendly micro-organisms. More nutritious and therapeutic than yogurt, it supplies complete protein, essential minerals, and valuable B vitamins.

Kefir is simple and inexpensive to make at home.
Eat kefir first thing in the morning for breakfast.

Kefir can be made with cows milk, goats milk, rice milk, soy milk and coconut milk.  All that is required is to add the grains to your choice of milk or even water.
The grains make kefir unique. They contain the bacteria/yeast mixture clumped together with casein (milk protein) and complex sugars. The grains ferment the milk, releasing their friendly organisms to create a live cultured product. The grains are then removed with a strainer, and used over and over again. (Never use metal utensils when preparing Kefir).
Kefir is great when sweetened with a little honey, use it with fruit, maple syrup, cereals, smoothies or as an accompaniment with jacket potatoes and salad.
